MaliNomnomnom na Tanghalian (A Tasty Lunch)

Remember that I blogged about planning something special for Tinee this month? Well guess what? I have already accomplished two out of my original 3 plans. LOL! :]

We've already watched "The Vow" last February 10 and just this Saturday, I treated her for lunch (plan was dinner date :]) at Nomnomnom.

Heard a lot of mixed comments about Nomnomnom and finally we got the chance to try it for ourselves. Thank you Metrodeal, I saved 250 for a 500 worth of voucher (I just love group buying sites).

As we entered the place, we were welcomed by their quirky decors. Somehow it reminded me of "Just G" (a clothing brand for girls and girls at <3), "Heima" (a furniture store), and somewhat a tea place because of the lamps, books, bird cages, teapots and teacups, etc. Also it will remind you of a canteen set-up because of their wooden tables and chairs or even a tambayan (place where you hangout). The vibe of the place is very down-to-earth. You have to see the place and judge it for yourself.

They have a wide variety of food choices to select from their menu, from the soups, to the salads, appetizers, pizzas, main course, rice toppings, etc.

Anyway, off to what we ordered:

Fried Ravioli (P110/6pc) - deep fried pasta pockets stuffed with cheesy kangkong and mushroom

Taste was ok. I know it was stuffed with Kangkong and Mushroom, but there was no mushrooms at all only kangkong and cheese. It was served with a dip and homemade salsa. I suggest that you eat it together with salsa and drizzle a little of its dip to taste better.

Nuggets Mo? Rice Crater (P110) - Veggie meat nuggets in chili sauce

Tinee's dish, I end up enjoying eating her dish than mine. The chili sauce is not spicy at all, it tasted like tomato salsa. I also liked the after taste of the nuggets because I kept on guessing what were the nuggets made of.

Lime Chicken with Alfredo Sauce (P180) - Chicken strips marinated in lime and drizzle with alfredo sauce.

My dish. I expected that there were parts of the chicken strips not covered with alfredo sauce so that there will be a little comparison in the taste, but it turns out to be like this. Also hoping that the alfredo sauce is tasty and cheesy but it wasn't. Chicken was tender. That's all.

Nomnomnom's House Blend Iced Tea and Dalandan Juice (P40/glass)

Boom Chikka Wawa (P90) - Ice cream cookie sandwich

Tinee wanted something for dessert so we ended up getting one. The texture of the vanilla ice cream was perfect, not too soft and not too frozen. Although we have a hard time eating the cookie.

Over-all experience was good, it could have been great. There are restos that serve veggie meals but still taste great. Sayang, the place has a lot of potential because of it's goodie-good vibe and the concept of the "tambayan" style. I'm still giving it a chance next time we dine here.

As of now we're giving it a rating of: 3.5 out of 5 foodie points

 Have a great week ahead..

P.S.
Please have your own restroom. I freaked out when I saw a lizard's head stuck on the restroom's door :[

Sango!

Last Saturday, my sister treated us for lunch because she wanted to try this resto that she discovered over the net (plus it's bonus day for her). LOL! :]

Introducing Sango! The Burger Master
Located at the Creekside Mall in Amorsolo. Near Makati Cinema Square.

The place is so comfy.. I suddenly miss going to Japan because the smell is soooo Japanese and I think they're serving Japanese Cuisine.
Their LCD TV airs different Japanese shows or even anime

From the name itself, they serve burgers but they also have rice toppings too :]

With their list of burgers of different kinds, I really can't decide on what to order and since it's our first time we asked the waiter what are their best sellers.
See how can I decide, all the pictures of their burgers looked so delish.
We ended up taking pictures of ourselves while waiting for our order, and there's a picture that caught my attention.
My sister and her boyfriend, Ryan
Sorry for the haggard face. But it was scorching hot that time:[
Their kitchen and Counter
This caught my attention: they serve you nothing but Fresh :]

Finally, the star of their resto arrived :]
Ooozing with meat sauce.. yummy :]
Master Cheese Burger - My pick! It consists of tomatoes, their special meat sauce, white onions, Japanese mayo, mustard, cheese, and beef patty.
Yakiniku Rice Burger - My sister & her bf's order. Made up of Japanese rice, beef yakiniku, maybe some special sauce, & green veggies. Didn't really know how it tasted but my sister said it was good. Will try this next time that I will visit.
Iced Milk Tea - There's nothing special about this drink. If you are familiar with the Lipton Milk Tea, that is how it tasted with ice.
Green Tea Milk Shake - Since there is no room for desserts, I ordered a milk shake. What I liked most about it was it doesn't have any after taste of the green tea. All I can taste was Ice cream. So their milk shake is worth trying :]

Overall, my Sango! experience was not bad for our first time. The food were delish and their servers were accommodating too. I will definitely go back there with Tinee and will try other burgers or even their rice meal.

I will give it a score of: 4.5 out of 5 foodie points

Peri-Peri

Last Saturday, after the MBS event Tita Fe (Tinee's mom) introduced us to this Portuguese resto named "Peri-Peri" for lunch.

Welcome to the world of Peri-Peri!

I found out that "Peri-Peri" ("piri piri" as the Portuguese would spell it, is their term for the bird's eye chilli) is actually a kind of spice they put on the chicken to taste.

Wow! for the health conscious people :) Photo taken from the Menu. LOL!

For only P49, they have this refillable soup and drinks for every order their chicken meal (it is an add-on to the chicken meal)

Good marketing strategy!

So we took advantage of their Soup & Beverage all you want. LOL!

Broccoli Soup - Tinee's order

Corn Soup - My safe choice

Colorful drinks (L-R) - Strawberry Iced Tea, Green Tea Iced Tea, Mountain Dew, & Lemon Iced Tea

Finally our chicken meal arrived..

1/4 Chicken Meal

The portion size of their chicken is quite small, however the taste of the chicken makes up for its flaws ( flaws forgiven! ).

Overall our Peri-Peri Chicken experience was worth trying. Me & Tinee will definitely go back there and will try some of their dishes.

giving it a rating of: 4.5 out of 5 foodie points :)

Café Bola

Finally we got to try Café Bola last Saturday :).

We've been wanting to eat at this place since last year.

So what's Café Bola? -- all I know is that Chef Margarita Fores, Cibo's owner is also the owner of this resto (so I expected the food to be yummy).

Café Bola

As we entered the place we were welcomed by their numbered tables, orange seats and their big round lights :) . I also noticed that they also have those egg trays on their ceiling, just like Cibo's.

Table # 1 :)

Since it is our first time to eat in this resto, we ordered something safe. LOL!

Swamp Cabbage Cheddar Dip (P120).

I don't know what a swamp cabbage is, but it tastes good. LOL! although I'm not that happy with their pandesal rounds.

Sirloin Tapa + Egg (P200)

Tinee's order. Their version of tapsilog. For me their tapa was just normal. Not too sweet and not too salty.

Bolas Carambola in Parmesan Cream + Ham on Pasta (P210)

I really don't know what to order so I tried their Bolas and boy am I glad that I made the right choice :). You can order Bolas in beef, chicken, or seafood meat balls, but if you can't make up your mind on what to order just go with carambola (1 meat ball of each).
Among the three meat balls my favorite would be their seafood meat balls. You can also order Bolas with rice and your choice of sauce. Next time I'll try their Carambola in Oriental Teriyaki on rice.

Bola Iced tea (P60)

I'll go with Cibo's Iced tea on this one. Maybe because their iced tea is too limey and not lemony? I don't know but it was just fine for me. LOL!

Overall our Café Bola experience was good. Café Bola is a place where in you can eat good food but not too pricey.

We will give it a score of: 4 out of 5 foodie points :)
